    Urban Art

    Hi all

I took myself off to London today in search of some more urban art for my collection ... here are four of them.

    Cheers

Depending on where this stuff is located, it wouldn't be so likely to bother me as the gang tags and paint splotches I see around here.
These are worth looking at though it looks like someone over painted the first one with some initials or something.

    Re: Urban Art

Frog .. there are a couple of places in London where urban art is permitted without interference. The theory, which appears to work, is that if you give people a couple of places where they can paint legally (or at least where it is tolerated), they are much less likely to deface other places. I happen to know where the permitted places are - so I can go straight there and be virtually guaranteed to see some high quality stuff.

Personally, I think there is a huge difference between nasty grafitti and serious urban art. The first I detest, the second I think can be wonderful (and just a little subversive!)

    Cheers

Beautiful. Thank you for sharing Didache. I'm glad someone is documenting at least some of these works, before they're painted over.

    Amazing, Mike.

Seems you've used the Mamiya here, no? But did you do anything else to get that vibrant three-dimensionality?

    Lighting?

    Photoshop?

    These really pop.

Great stuff! If you were in the States I would suggest a trip to the former Rochester Subway. There's stuff on the same caliber down there.

Thanks, Paul. All the more impressive!

I think I was fooled by the crop; looked two-and-a-quarter-ish to me.
