Update B&H Fire.......

I was in NY today so stopped at B&H. I was told the actual fire was in the building right next to them and the B&H warehouse had water damage only. They also said the warehouse that got water damage contains larger equipment - TV's, video, etc.and the photo equipment is in Manhatten.

The TV showed the B&H warehouse and it was snowing hard & windy which made everyone think the fire was there. The people at B&H saw it also.

Actually I went to NY to go to a special Mass for the Pope at St. Patrick's. I missed the Mass I wanted to attend with Cardinal Egan, but did go to Mass at noon there.

I took a walk to B&H from Port Authority because I was too late for one Mass - and too early for the other. I was glad to find out what happened.

I also spoke to the Canon rep and told him Amazon is taking pre-orders for the new Rebel XT. He said he was going to speak to his director to get specific delivery dates/price for B&H so we can pre-order from there.

St Patrick's is about the most BEAUTIFUL place I have ever entered! When I say beautiful, I mean the feeling that comes over you apon entering!! I love that place..... and I am sure you know my views on religion as a whole ;)

I agree about the awesome feeling when walking into St. Patrick's. I love going there and go as often as I can. My usual pattern when I have 1/2 day or so off is to get the bus to Port Authority, walk to St. Patrick's for Mass if the weather is nice and walk back slowly (camera in hand) via 5th Avenue and 42nd Street. It's a great area - always lots of hussle and bussle - and activity going on. I usually find a photo or two.
