    Unhappy with pictage.com

The first odrer I received from pictage.com was four 11x14 prints. The 2nd day shipping I selected didn't do much good since they didn't ship for almost a week. When the order did arrive it was in very shabby and unprofessional. The prints were damaged. I asked for a a refund and they told me I would have to ship them back at my own expense. They will not refund my shipping to or from. I am moving on.

I thought it more appropriate to move this thread to ViewFinder as it has nothing to do with Internet and Web Design Forum.

    Good "move", Peter...

Welcome, MCP. I've always had great luck (as have many others here) with mpix.com - they ship next day and the prints are always very well packed. I've never talked to a live person there but never needed to. They offer a few different papers and several other services. Prints of all sizes at very reasonable prices.

I sound like an ad, but I have nothing to do with them other than being another happy customer. They're like B&H - it works the way it's supposed to.

MCP, I also second MPIX.com. But I would also highly recommend WHCC. They both provide an excellent product and service. The additional benefit of WHCC is that they don’t charge shipping.
I also noticed you use Pictage. Are you using pictage for your online order fulfillment?

I must mention to you a product that I have recently found and have been using for 3 months. Check out Pictures Pro “Photo Cart"”. I have been ecstatic with this product over the past 3 months and the service is great.

Now for disclosure purposes I’m not affiliated with Pictures Pro nor have a financial interest in Pictures Pro.

I agree...I've tried out a couple of services including pictage, and have been unhappy about the web presentation and print services. I now use Extensis Portfolio 8 web publish to post images to the web and do my own printing and send them out.

I guess I'm the lone voice here, but I've always had good results with Pictage. I don't order many images, but when I do, they get here fast (i don't specify anything special shipping wise though), images are great etc...

I have never tried anything else, but now I have some others to peruse as well.

I've used Mpix a few times. Their metallic prints are cool and they did a nice mounted 20 x 30 poster for me that turned out very well. The shipping is fast. I think the "regular" prints aren't as good as Adorama (my go to printer) and I emailed Mpix about an order twice and got no response.

Adorama does the best printing of the online vendors I've tried and is comparable to a local pro printer. They've screwed up my order a few times (wrong print sizes or multiple copies of the wrong print, etc.) but fix it without any undue grief.

Will I'm at it. I used overnightprints.com for some business cards this month and wasn't impressed. No response to an email about my order, haphazard cuts and printing that was okay, but not great.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Just echoing what others have recommended here. Mpix rocks. I use them all the time for anything 11x14 and larger. As long as the order processes before 3 pm eastern time, the pics almost always ship that day. I had one order that got messed up (it got printed on E-paper instead of metallic) and I got the correct order the next day at no extra charge. Like B&H photo and video, they understand customer service.
