Uh Ho! x 6

Ok, with all the tornado hassels of the past few weeks I was certainly NOT prepared for what occured beginning at 7:30am this morning, but I should have known it....
All night Cassiemy pregnant 132lb Rot/Pitbull seemed aggitated and restless. She didn't sleep and her panting made it so I couldn't sleep either
So at 6:30 I let her and Gizmo outside and I started to work on the yard. A while later Cassie is scratching in the dog house.... and I thought that not right. I let her in te house and she went to the couch and plopped down. A half hour later I checked on her and realized the day had come, she was pushing..... boy did I miss it on the due date!
Oh well, it's my first time through this with a dog and Cassies first as well. Out comes #1, black with a little white and funny looking bear type paws, and a white V on it's neck. #2 was also black and white, #3 was brown and white but # 4 was a real shocker, solid white! then #5 and 6 were both black and white.... we have a full house!
Meanwhile Gizmo knows something is up, he just isn't sure what, and he hasn't seen his "kids" yet. So heres a couple poor shots... you see em before Gizmo does!

Whew! What a day this has been. Cassie seems to be getting along OK though She didn't even give Gizmo a second thought though when she went out finally. He's banned for a few days

LOL no one can figure the solid white one outm although the neighbor two houses South said "it's not ours!" because they have a pure white dog. Cassie hasn't been near him though.
That brown one is an interesting critter! He's got black ears, odd white areas on his paws and a black tail with a white tip. Gizmo has a white tip on his tail too. The solid black one is more a charcol , he'ed be a good night watch dog as he'ed blend in with a dark back ground and no one would see him coming.

Poor Gizmo wants in the room where the puppies are but Cassie won't let him in

Tyson, already getting half hearted barks out of them! But mostly they just whine when they get underneath Cassie. or at the bottom of the pile when they climb on top of each other They get around well considering they can't see :thumbsup:

Jimmy B - Oh I'm having a blast Actually it's better since 4am when an hour long disagreement with Cassie finally ended and she now understanfs I was right. Basically she had them in a big chair and refused to get into a big TV box I cut out for her. Finally, after getting up 50 times I put the pups in the box and sat there with Cassie until she finally gave up trying to take them out and got in with them. She quickly found it made everything easier and I finally got some sleep!

Liz, yup....and how big they will get! If they are like their mother they will be good sized dogs, and eat a ton of food!

So, anyone besides JETA want a puppy?????

Nice brood there.

You might want to move the family into a plastic swimming pool or plywood box (don't use cardboard) as they can be easily cleaned. Keeps everybody healthier and less smelly. Shredded newpaper may become your best friend shortly!!

A friend had ten pups presented to his family just last week! Mostly Golden Retriever.

Best of luck and feed mama well! She's got to feed the little guys.

The box is the only thing I had, but I have it well lined and have some old blenkets I switch out and wash... good thing I'm on a well and don't pay for water! Besides all the laundry Cassie is drinking a ton of water, she was bad before but now she's drinking enough for dogs her size. She has plenty of food and the dogs (Cassie and Gizmo) eat better than I do!

One example, I get a pizza last night, I eat 5 slices then had to run out for a nieghbor, I get back the pizza box is on the floor and EMPTY. It seems that Hermy the cat decided she wanted pizza (Ok, she loves mushrooms ) and then Gizmo and Cassie ate the rest.... all three were licking their chops when I walked in they wanted more, but so did I :mad2:
Oh well, at least they haven't done what Casper did.... stealing a steak right off the stove!

She DOES look proud of herself! What a good lookin' bunch a dogs! Hehe, the puppies are so tiny, good luck with taking care of them! They're a handful when they're that little. Our Doberman had 12 pups and she kept pushing the runt out, somehow they just know they aren't going to make it. With 5 little ones I'm sure she'll be able to mother them all easily enough! So sweet

Of course they attacked when you turned your back. They knew you would have ate the whole thing. Heck, even I know that! LOL

They are tiny but they have some lungs on them! I hear them outside, of course I do a few broken windows but still they wake me when they start in with the noise. They won't be small for long though, if they are like their mother they will grow fast. There are 6 of them BTW, and no runt, all just as active as the next and just as loud. One does sound funny though, almost like a bird
Cassie is doing very well with them, but one seems to get her aggitaed because it makers more noise. I found I can put it to sleep fast by laying it on my chest and in a minute the critter is sound asleep! Cassie now brings that one to me :thumbsup:

hahaha...yup, I'd have eaten it all... except the crust which I give to Cassie & Gizmo.

I named two of em today

the brown one is Bandit thanks to his mask and "gloves", all four legs are black
And then there is "Slash", one of the black and white pups who has a white line on his back by his shoulders
I'm trying to figure out a name for the black and white one that has the V on his back by his shoulders... not sure but I think it's a female...I can't remember

The almost solid charcol black puppy may be named Bear because he looks like a bear cub. He has a small amount of white on his belly.
