Question "The Twinkie" as a subject...

I just happen to read this story Twinkies the subject of cream-filled exhibit on CNN, about a local photography group's annual project..
This year, they will be photographing Twinkies, you know the cream filled cake snack.

Sounds interesting, but not something I'd get into.
    What do the others think?
How would you pose your Twinkie?
Could you eat your subject when you were done with it?

    Brian..remember that place....

on the corner of Redwood and I think 7800 So. on the southwest corner? It's been torn down and a Quiznos or something is there now. They used to always have a sign out front for deep-fried twinkies. I think I'd shoot one in, or going in the grease. "Death of a Twinkie". Man I haven't had one of those in ages. mmmmmmmmmmm

    Ever see Blue Man Group?

    Hi Brian,

Blue Man does some very interesting things with twinkie type substance. Think "gross platters and consumption".

On a serious note, Mayor Mascone of San Francisco and a City Council member (forget his name) was gunned down by a disgruntled ex-cop. He got off the murder charge by stating he was high on twinkies. So, you may want to try a piece on the effects of twinkies in a "Super-Size Me" type way.

    Good luck,
    Tim

Don't turn this thread into something beyond what it was intended to be!

    Hope you feel better soon!
I went for a ride on Saturday.
I think if I did such a picture, I'd make the Twinkie, a photographer standing behind a Holga.

Re: Ever see Blue Man Group?

    Tim,
That was referenced in the CNN article.
And after former San Francisco supervisor Dan White killed Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk in 1978, the defense argued diminished capacity due in part junk food consumption. The tactic became known as the "Twinkie Defense."
I have not seen "The Blue Man Group".

I was thinking deep frozen and then cut in half.
Band saw, or perhaps laser/plasma cutter?
Or perhaps a cleaver on a raw one for maximum splatter.

Is into slice and dice type movies.

Perhaps a shot with a twinkie tie down and laser coming at it, with a caption below that reads:
"Do you expect me to talk?"
"No Mr. Twinkie, I expect you to die"

    Brian,
When did we ride last?? Are you kidding? I'll give you 2 hints: Rattlesnake Gulch / Mothers Day. Last time I saw you, you were hobbling on a broken leg. Been a while, eh?

Friend at work loves twinkies. I tried one and can't see what all the fuss is about.
    Tasteless, sugar-loaded, but totally bland.
But he loves them, and so I get my sister-in-law to send over care pacels
Captain Crunch for my wife's breakfast, Twinkies for Rob, adn Oreos for me
We send back tea bags and chocolate.

I would have a heap 'o' Tiwnkies and shoot them with the Holga with color film. Then maybe I'd fall into said pile of creme-filled fluffiness and take a self-portrait of the self-indulgence. And then no I wouldn't eat them. Never liked them. Susie Q's rock, though.
