    Tokina ATX 840 lens plug...

    The softness in the full frame image is due to shooting through a chain link fence.
    The second image is a 100% crop.
    I know I'm easy, but I'm impressed.
    Tokina ATX 840 80-400MM @ 400MM f5.6 1/640 sec. iso 800. Nikon D70.
    Lighting, out door heavy overcast.

    was this handheld? you do know it will get sharper if you close down slightly.... right?

    Yes and yes. I just would not have guessed it to be this sharp @ 400mm f5.6.
    BTW, First pic no USM, 2nd pic 200 + USM via noise ninja.
