And what exactly is Evacuation Day, you ask? Well, I just learned about this today as well. Evacuation Day is the day in American Revolutionary War history when the British left our shores. According to this morning's Metro newspaper, for a long time it was celebrated as fervently as Independence Day.
Today at Federal Hall, there were Revolutionary War Re-enactors dressed up in period uniform. When I was there they were posing with tourists. I shot mostly Holga stuff, but took out Rosemary's Baby for a shot from the distance of this reticent officer smoking a cigarette. Irony galore! I can't wait to see my Holga shot of two "troops" having a chat with paper cups of coffee.
