    Thunder

    Photos of distant thunder

    4 sec exposure, F8, 11mm, ISO 100

    Cropped 66 and 100%

Due to the aggresive crop and after increasing the contrast noise was quite noticeable
    I passed these through noiseware

Sorry about the electric wires, while I have a way larger view they all seem to happen right where the wires are

First time I ever capture a "decent" thunder

For some reason the picture seems messed up, but what I can see of it is really amazingly cool.

Nice job Armando. Getting active lightning shots is tough to do.

messed up? yup, you are being polite

Let's say I had less than ideal conditions for good IQ
    near 100% crop,
increased exposure and then the brightness and contrast on PP to get the thunder to be seen better (badly underexposed, I need a lower fstop and higher iso)
after that I got to much noise so passed it through noiseware
    shot through a dirty window
4 secs handheld laying vs a wall trying to avoid the light of a street lamp from hitting the lens (preventing flare)

I could have driven to a much better location but was late at night and it felt to much at the time , given the results, next time I'll go to the better location

Thanks big Sky, the area where I live we gets pretty intense thunderstorms, with lightning going off every few seconds, so as long as I point in the general direction with a long exposure I'll eventually get one, it is early in the year to start getting any rain, but hey, I can practice so I can eventually get a nicer photo.
