    Techno Parade

All the time I see things around me that I would like to keep and remember i.e. take photos of. Often it is just not appropriate to whip a camera out and let fly. So I have to wait for the opportunity.

For the young Paris (area) adults the opportunity is the Techno Parade. The center of Paris is turned into a giant discotheque with carnival floats booming out the decibels and hordes of young folks having fun. It's about the easiest thing in the world to photograph. Show up with a pro outfit and the kids come up and ask to be photographed.

All pictures on the D200+18-200 (at 18mm) with SB800. Note how well the camera has balanced the flash and the ambient light. To start off with I was doing my own settings but after a while I just let the camera sort it out in P mode..

Nice shots, Charles. Looks like a very interesting parade to photograph. I like the similarities between the main subjects of the last two.

    Re: Techno Parade

I always wondered what the French youth looked like.

Looks like that flash helped eliminate some harsh shadows there.
