Yeah, it's sad isnt it. I understand that the life expectancy of someone in his condition is only 7 years and he lived 9. How awful.

I was surprised to hear about it, actually. I got up way too early a couple of weeks ago and heard a BBC interview with him. Apparently he had recently gotten over a potentially serious illness and sounded positive as ever. Very courageous and determined guy.

Yeah... I remember him saying that he would walk again. This is a depressing news as he was a beacon of hope for many who are in the same situation. I understand that he was a fervent spokeperson and activist for research in this area.
