    Sunset

Just scanned this in today. I had kinda forgotten about this shot. This is an old friend from California taken in the Oakland Hills.

    Re: Sunset

Actually, here's the sunset that made the shot. I framed it in using an old real estate post

Very impressive. But what makes it for me is the real estate post looks like a cross.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Re: Sunset

I agree OT it reminds me of a cross as well. That would probably make it more meaningful wouldn't it?

    Thanks for the compliment.

    I agree!

I am by far not the most religious guy, but that indeed does look like a cross and therefore has more impact.

    Rick,

I agree - I love that image. For me, it looks like the sunset is being viewed from the Cross. However, there is no Corpus (body) on the Cross. So if it were my image (wish it were) I would entitle it "The Resurrection." I love it. Personally I find it an awesome image.

    Re: Sunset

Thanks guys. I wasn't originally going to post that shot it was the reflection in my friend's glasses that was the main theme. I just stuck the sunset on there as an afterthought

Here's a philosophical question for ya: Would it be unethical to pretend in the future that this was a picture of a cross? For impact's sake?

    Thanks,
    Rick

Well, I would prefer better depth of field to include the real estate post in focus. There is also a rather sudden sky colour change from the sunset colour to grey along with some black "dust" splotches which seem rather distracting. That shot I think could have benefitted as well from some experimentation with different angles and framing.

I can't even explain how hard I laughed when I read that---(although I think you were being serious)

I guess it would all depend on how much of a business person you might consider your self over the fact that you are also an artist.

business wise---you present in a away that yields the greatest appeal to yield the greatest $$$ outcome

BTW ---I thoiught it might be cool to sandwich the two images somehow...

Every image is open to the interpretation of the viewer. I don't think there is an ethical question here. You don't need to say anything just let the viewer draw their own conclusions.

That's it! You're booted out of my thread!

Seriously... why was that funny? Are you licking frogs again? ;)

I guess if I just hung it and let people see what they want to see there is no dillema. But if people ask, I would have to tell the truth. How would I title it?

    Re: Sunset

title it: Across the Sky--HA! crack myself up...

it was funny because presuming that most people that have a connection spiritually to a cross would probabaly feel that any variation or deviation of the actual truth might be considered LYING ...it was a little humorous because presenting a sunset with a cross and "pretending" why it was photographed---well it was just funny---love you...mwa mwa
