    Summer Travel Plans?

Who's got summer travel plans? Who's gonna take some pictures when they travel? I am! I've got a couple of trips planned for this summer and my trips always revolve around picture-taking. Jenni and I have a first anniversary road trip to Whistler, BC coming up and I've also got a family reunion in Colorado later in the summer. Bikes will likely be involved in both trips as well as cameras

So what do you have planned? Staying close to home? Big trip to Europe? African safari? Tell us about it. And while you're at it - I've got a new Quick Poll up about summer photo travel plans. Please take a second to vote before you post a reply and tell us what you've got planned.

And if anyone is planning a trip to Utah, make sure to let me know. I love getting to meet PhotographyREVIEW.com members in person.

My first big trip of the summer is to Norther Michigan, Harbor Springs, for Photostock 2012, an annual gathering of film photographers organized through the APUG forum. Also going to Missiouri in July.

I'm going to visit my hometown in the UP of Michigan that I haven't been to since 1989. I left there in 1960 and have only been back 3 times since. It should be interesting. Then later this summer the wife and I are thinking of taking a train trip through the Rockie Mountains. That should be a great photo op.

The best seasons to do landscapes are spring, autumn and even winter. Not summer. The light is too harsh.

I would like to go back to Budapest and take a Hungarian language course, plus visit the country more.

I loved Budapest last summer - the weather was warm and sunny (unlike Paris which was cloudy and mild most of the time). But the Hungarian language is totally opaque to me. It has no connection with Latin or German or even the slavic languages and you start from scratch.

Not buying any more gear this year. I hope

If you do go back to Budapest , take a short trip to the town of Szentenore. It is a quaint little artists town with great street markets. There are some Roman ruins nearby too.

Funny you should say that, I am planning on bringing my E-P1 along for some HD video...right next to a Super 8 camera with Ektachrome E100D.
