    A study of Shadows

    Greetings,

The scene, setting sun streaming through the front door.

The subject, a flowering aloa vera plant...

No time to move things around or set up the tripod

    14-54mm hand held...

    Cheers, Don

Nice work Don. I like the last one the best.

    Well thank you Greg,

When I noticed the light and jumped off the couch to shoot these, I had the least expectations of that shot turning out but with a little PS'ing it worked out okay

Nice work, Don. The Art Institute of Chicago recently had a display of light vs. shadow and it was very interesting.

I'm not sure if you were looking for a more formal or concise critique, but if you were then post it in the Critique forum. Posting shots in Viewfinder is great, and exactly what we all like to see - but VF isn't so much about critique as it is just sharing.

    Re: A study of Shadows

    Thank you Another View,

For now this type of work is just for fun.....

If I would have taken as much time to set up as I do with my studio shots I would be more appreciative of critical discourse and I would expect myself to respond in kind.

Yikes, I didn't realize I was that much of a control freak, he, he....

This does bring up a point I will have to ponder, exactly when are you ready to offer constructive criticism??

In my other "work" I feel quite comfortable with this aspect. Perhaps my reluctance is my relative inexperience with the language of this medium.

    Cheers, Don
