    Straight Out of Camera

Not sure this is the right place, but I would love to see some straight out of camera photos. No editing, cropping or nothing of any kind. Sound boring? Maybe I should shoot film? I think it would be a fun challenge.

    Here's one of my favorites

    First Flower

    Camera: Olympus E-520
    Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)
    Aperture: f/5.6
    Focal Length: 128 mm
    ISO Speed: 100
    Exposure Bias: 0 EV
    Flash: Auto, Did not fire
Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F4.0-5.6

    Re: Straight Out of Camera

that one looks like it was cropped, unless it was done in camera of course, or is that just the format of that camera?
    mostly Nikon gear

Feel free to edit my images for critique, just let me know what you did.

no, sir. not cropped. anything i post as SOOC is straight out of camera. i wouldn't cheat.

although all of my SOOC shots are not great, i'm pleased with this one. just trying to do more of them actually.

thanks. this was one of the first images i took with my e520. i just got it the day before we went on vacation and while we were waiting on the beach house to be cleaned, i sat on the steps and took a few shots of this hibiscus. it remains one of my favorite.

That's a nice shot, very sharp and has great visual impact. I myself prefer s.o.o.c. shots with little or no manipulation. Most of my pics are done that way.

thanks. well considering it was a hand held shot and i never had a chance to play with the camera before taking it on vacation, i was very happy with the result. i used to run many of my photos through LR or PS, then it just became too time consuming, so I stopped.

    another recent favorite.

    OK, I'll add a few.
The only processing is to convert from RAW in Adobe RGB to JPG sRGB for posting here, and resize for the forum.
That is as close to SooC as you get from me, sorry.

Some very nice pictures posted above. I will take a swing at this game. Mine are converted from RAW to JPEG in PSE 8.0 and downsized for posting only.

cool. i checked out that thread, didn't know there was one. love that monkey picture of him sticking out his tongue. i love seeing sooc shots, without the crutch of LR or Photoshop. i almost thought about doing some film work until i realized i didn't have any money to pay for processing.
