    star trails & Mt. Rainier

Today was a beautiful day in Washington! The sun was out all day and after church and lunch I took about an hour to shoot a few scenes. Nothing fantastic but it felt good to get out. The first shot was done tonight. The stars were out clear as crystal and I set up my camera outside the house for a long exposure at f/5.6. The fog started rolling in and so after 21 minutes (I had hoped for an hour long shot) I stopped the exposure just to be safe. But turns out I could have gone a lot longer as the fog didn't come in as much as I thought it would. The other pics are of Mt. Rainier from the Jackson Highway, converted to black in white since the time of day did not afford great color in the sky. One of these days I'll make a special trip to either Mt. Rainier or Mt. St. Helens for some better photos.
