I posted this question in the photo critique forum but I thought the responce would be better here. I have made a very large (7"x60") panaramic image that I would like to get printed. I'm new to the world of digital and haven't had a single image printed yet. I talked to a local photo shop today, and he quoted me a price of $150 for a 60" print. He also quoted me a price of $40 for two 30" prints that he could cut and paste together to make one large print. $40 compared to $150 sure sounds good to me, but what about the seam from splicing the two pieced together? He said it would be easy to hide if the image was dark. The bottom half is pretty dark, but I'm worried about the top half of the image. Has anyone spliced two prints together before? and if so how did it turn out? I would rather not spend the $150 to get the one image, but at the same time, I don't want to go the more economical route if I'm going to end up with a visible line in the middle of my image...
What are your thoughts???

I'm very new to digital and this is my first time making some major changes to an image and I have never even heard of ICC profiles. Can you fill me in on what they are or point me in the right direction? I will check out Calypso Imaging when I have some more time. Hopefully later this afternoon.
