For SPEED - here ya go!

Speed - I couldn't help but think of you when I saw this lens. Maybe someday the Lovely Dawn might consider it as a possible Christmas gift for you. ......... .......... when you win the lottery!

If I win the lottery, I'm getting a D3 and Dawn is getting a D300.

Also, my Celestron C8 is smaller, lighter, and provides 2032mm of focal length, so I just don't see the need of hauling that monster Canon thingy around. Plus a Celeston is a LOT cheaper!

But I do appreciate your thinking of me.

You're right my friend - it ain't happening! No Canon thingy for me!

If you want a long lens, Sigma makes several. Also, you can buy a Celeston C8 for a lot less than that Canon monster, and get more focal length for your money.

    Wink and it's only $99,000!

    Meanwhile a Celeston C8 runs about $2000.

Hmmm, looks like a no-brainer to me.

Talking Here's a Sigma for you!

    A 200 - 500mm f 2.8 is outrageous! Now that's a lens!

I don't think I could hand hold it, but who cares?

Sigma also makes a 50 - 500mm lens that I hear is a very nice performer.

And they have an 800mm f 5.6 as well.

There are definitely lots of choices out there.

    I still can't get over it, a 500mm f 2.8?!!!

Wink That is one sick lens!

That is one incredible lens! Who thought anyone would ever produce a 500mm f 2.8?

    I didn't!

And the price is expected to between $10,000 and $20,000. Come on lottery...
