    SpaceShipOne reaches space..unofficially...

I would LOVE to shoot photos of an event like this!

Looked like an exciting ride for Mike though. More excitement than you would want on a flight like that.

Man I wish I were at Mojave with my camera! [Heavy sigh]

    How cool is that?!?

Yeah, was just reading about that. The most interesting point they made was comparing it to Lindberg's trans-Atlantic flight, saying this may lead to public space travel the way his flight opened the door to commercial airline travel...

If I understand the rules of the space flight contest correctly, they have to make another similar flight within two weeks...

    Public space travel...

another photo-op I'd love to try! I would guess that private industry would have a better shot at commercial space travel that the government would. Different motivating factors! Public sector would have to have a safe reliable system that operates efficiently, at least an order of magnitude more efficiently than the gov't could do it.

I think, if they can determine the cause of the unwanted roll wasn't a serious problem, they may try another flight early next week! It was exciting to watch on CNN, especially when the roll started and didn't stop.
