Somebody got a new toy :)

Ok, we my wife & I both got new toys. I picked up a used D200, battery grip, 2 extra batteries & chargers, while I got my wife (who has been bugging me about a camera upgrade from her P&S) a used Nikon D70 with a new 18-55 VR lens. The lens probably is getting returned since it is extremely slow to AF.

I don't have any D70 pics to show since my wife hasn't let go of the camera, but here are a couple with my D200.

    1. D200 & Tokina 12-24. This was smoke from a huge fire burning an hour or so from my house. I have never seen a sky get like this before. Normally when you get a sunset/smoke/clouds shot, only the parts the sun hits is orange/red. In this case, it looked like you were holding an orange filter over your eyes - everything had an orange tint to it.

    2. D200 & Sigma 28-70 F2.8
My boy does like the camera. He'll be 3 months on Monday

    3. D200 & Sigma again

    4. D200 & Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR
I was waiting to get picked up for a job & since I had some time to kill I walked around & took a bunch of shots

    5. D200 & Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR again

You're going to love the D200! I upgraded to a used D200 from a D80 and the build quality, superior metering, and overall beter handling just blew me away. Unless you shoot at really high ISO's the image quality is very close if not the same as a D300 (especially at iso 200) and I find 10.2 megapixels is more than enough for most jobs. By the way, the last pic is incredible! Don't you just love how sharp the 70-200 VR is?
