Some scenery/opening day at the mtn

Couple shots from opening day at baker. Nothing too great. Too busy enjoying it to stop too much but any advice still? No good action really but some nice views. Buddy took the shot of my skiing. More on the way, should be good season.

Yep, the last one is my favorite. According to the exif, you shot this at f2.8. I'm surprised it's all pretty sharp that wide open. I would imagine that if you enlarge it too much, it'll start lose sharpness. Normally, a person would shoot a scene like this stopped down as far as they can, like f11 or f16, and if it calls for a slow shutter speed, they'd use a tripod. Turned out nice, though.

I've been to Bellingham. A few years ago, my wife and I vacationed by Seattle. Our first night was spent at a B & B in Bellingham. I'd love to spend a summer there. Beautiful area.

That depends on the lens. I've had lenses that were razer sharp wide open on scenes like this, and it was an Nikon F, 50mm F1.4.

Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately Im still using a point and shoot so I dont have any control over the f stop. Have to see what the camera decides and hope it turns out or I can mess with it on the computer. Good info for the future though.
