Some quick IR shots over the past week.

Well ive been toying with that IR modded 350D again. Here are some of my shots from this past week.

I love the different perspective you give things when you know that their colors will come out completely off from what you view them as through the viewfinder. If you ever get a chance to buy a cheap p&s, convert it to IR. You'll have tons of fun for a good while. You may even want to get an IR slr. :-)

First few you'd swear it was just after a big snow storm.
I like them all but the redwing blackbirs shot is my favorite.

Re: Some quick IR shots over the past week.

When I took the rwbb shot, I was about 12ft away and he was up in a tree. I wished I had my 40D because the shot and composure were excellent. I got one shot off before he flew, which was a bit underexposed. :-( I would have left it with false color but I had to go to black and white to save it.

    Thanks for the comments!!

Man, I love the look of the modded digi cams. Did you do the mod yourself or have it done? If so, who'd you use? I was going to have my D100 modded earlier this year, but my Dad started talking about buying a DSLR so, to save him $$ I offered him the D100... Guess I'll just have to keep my eyes open for a used body and have the mod done to that one.

Thanks for sharing these. They look sweet!

Re: Some quick IR shots over the past week.

I did it myself, 3 times on the same camera.

First time I did it, I just removed the IR to see if I liked the effect, which I did. I then replaced it with a clear piece of AR glass, and then I did it a 3rd time, replacing the glass with a 720nm IR pass filter.

    Thanks for the comment!
