Some of my better snake photos to date...

I created a little mini studio outside, out of styrofoam which I carved to suit my purpose, with a large peice of white t-shirt material draped over it.. These were taken on an overcast, yet sunny and warm day, later in the afternoon with the sun past its zennith.

    very cool......

I think snake markings are some of the most stunningly beautiful designs in nature. This is the kind of subject I could shoot over and over and never get tired of it...

    Nice pics. Thanks for sharing...

Very very nice. Love the colors and your creative use of the strofoam. If you had posted just that first one I would have said awesome and my mouth would have dropped open. But you went and ruined it by posting more just as nice and now you have made me think it's easy and you didn't have to work for that shot. Thanks for sharing with us, these are very well done images.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Wow! These are stunning photos. I hope you display your work somewhere. And/or enter them for a prize. These are awesome. That is one beautiful snake! I love the eyes - they are a work of art in themselves. Wow.

I hope you don't mind me asking you this question, but is the snake in these photos dangerous? I can't imagine something so beautiful being dangerous.

You have quite a talent - both with the snakes, and in photography. Please continue posting here, as it's a pleasure to view your images.

    Thanks liz, I appreciate it

The snake itself is very non-dangerous, aside from lots of little needle teeth. Once adult, their teeth are nearly 3/4" long, and would just hurt like a mo-fo if you were bitten. But at this age, if they do decide they need to bite, it just looks like this..

Old Timer - LOL. well I guess now I have to take a truely AMAZING shot to impress you. ;)

Steve, if you think that guy is great, check out this one... I'm so sad that this species of snake changes color from young to adult coloration.. I would of loved it if he stayed this shade of deep burgundy...

Very nice - especially the second one. I read your description and wondered if the pictures would be boring and sterile with the snakes outside their normally environment and surrounded in white. They are not.

On thing - I know this is not the critique board and I'm not sure if you use photoshop or its equivalent, but a little "unsharp mask" would make these photos even better, at least IMHO.
