    Wow. I remember walking to school in Fredericton and the snow would be over my head. But I was only in first or second grade, then. Excuse me - translation: grade one or grade two

    well you could see the tops of previous snowbanks from being plowed before!

    Those are awesome drifts. When we lived in Fredericton the snow was always way higher than our VW bus on both sides of our driveway, but that was where I shoveled it. I haven't seen a snowfall like your photos since 1948 (Hey, I've been around), when we drove from Calgary to Salt Lake City on roads with snowbanks ten feet high all the way and the plowed part was so narrow cars could hardly pass. When a wide car (Hudson) met a truck, all the men got out of their cars and pushed the Hudson (bounced it actually) through the edge of the snow and around the truck.
