    Small Taste of Fall

It seems that the traditional colors of Autumn arrived a little late this year to Kentucky. I went looking for them a month ago and was very disappointed. This week however seemed to bring some out. Here are just a small taste of the color.

Great colors, and nicely smoothed background on a few.

My favorite of these is #4.

Of course not. That's what it's all about. Throw them up here and let us all enjoy your fall colors.

Nice images OT. We had a small taste of winter last Tuesday eve/Wednesdy am. Little culprit dumped 10 to 20 cm. of the white stuff over parts of the southern prairies. Most of it is gone by now but, it will be back!!

First shot is a Silver Maple and I *think* the rest are of a spectacular Japanese Maple.
All were taken on Long Island last Monday.

    Re: Small Taste of Fall

Very nice. Fall has come rather late indeed, and after a very windy day, the ground was totally covered in leaves.

There's a trail under here somewhere

This is a ~10ft wide creek covered with so many leaves you could hardly see any water.

I love the shallow DOP on many of these, I would have to say that is the one I miss most by using a P-n-S camera.
These are really all very nice shots. Thanks for sharing these, you guys.

    Re: Small Taste of Fall

Autumn color came late and the rain and windy conditions have the leaves on the run in a hurry. Not much left here in mid November, but here a few leaves from a walk to work on a rainy overcast Saturday morning.

Sorry, nothing exciting - just wanted to share.

All of these were shot around noon today in our backyard, and are arranged in the order in which they were taken. None have had any heavy post-processing applied.

OT I'm so jealous! I won't get to visit Kentucky for another month, and I'm certain all the leaves will have fallen by the time I get there

Fantastic shots from everyone! I posted a bunch from my trip to New York in October in this thread: Maid of Honor X2 but I can always post more!!

Love the perspective of the last shot Nat and the first is composed nicely. Thanks for joining in the fall blitz of color. Color came late to Kentucky this year but I'm afraid it will all be gone by the time you make it here. What part of the great Commonwealth are you visiting?

Thanks JETA. Sometimes those lenses you buy thinking they are just for sports find other very good uses for themselves.

Southeastern portion near Cumberland Gap. It's B-E-A-utiful down there. Maybe I'll get a little snow?!

It is nice down there. I spent some time at Pine Mountain State Park a few years ago and got some wonderful sunrise over fog shrouded valleys from the mountain photos. Have never been to Cumberland Gap but it's on my list of places to go since the government recreated the trail.
