    Sepia dreams

Lately I've been using sepia to process some shots. It just feels right on some things; adds warmth while preserving attention on line and shape more than color does sometimes. I spend as much time on these as I do on my color shots in post. A few people like these better, but most want color shots saturated to the max and sharpened within an inch of their lives. Eh...I don't know, can't anyone use their imaginations anymore? Doesn't anyone want their reality slightly tweaked sometimes? Am I wasting my time? Eh...maybe I'm just old.

I agree with you 100%. To me tweaking it in pp is half the fun!

Nop you are not wasting you time.

That last one is my fav...pretty interesting scene, personally I would tweak it more to define somehow a bit more the buildings...other than that its a keeper.

thanks all. I'm glad not everyone wants HDR images all the time.

oh and on the last one, Rob, I was sort of going for an old photo effect...I added some grain in and flattened the contrast. I think it's haunting.

I like these. You might even play with a bit of selective mild blurring to also enhance that 'antique effect'. A lot of these older images ranged from very well focused to only be partially focused in some areas of the image. Almost anything goes!

    I'll look forward to more.

i agree with BlueRob. I really like the last one, just wish i could see a bit more detail on the buildings.
