Re: Self portraits...that time of year

Hey, UPS brought me a D300. Nice of them, eh? Anyway, here is a self portrait from the new camera. I let it pick the focus point, and it picked my eye! I've got to be honest, it scares me a little when a camera can find my face, and focus perfectly on it. Anyway, this was also the first time I've been able to use off camera flash. The on board flash kept blowing away the SB-600 since it was so close. But a thin book and very awkward way to hold the camera solved that problem. Anyway, here ya go.

ooh, I actually have one! Of my face, no less! But it's from my iPhone. Not a fancy-schmancy *real* camera.

Wow!! That's a great selfer from an iPhone. Everything I try just comes out goofy looking. Yours however looks super. Glad you jumped on the bandwagon and decided to play. This has been another very cool thread where we have gotten to know an lot of people.

    Hi Kelly!

That's actually not a bad idea for a thread. Camera phone pics or self portraits!

    one ive been working on

click for a bigger version (althought not big enough to really tell what each image is). the final psd file for this one is 3/4 of a gig, 8000x16000.

This is my final photo workshop print for this year. it's a culmination of almost every photo I have put time and effort into over the last 4 years. about 1700 images make up the large image, about 1200 different photos. Obviously some are repeated. It's being printed 30x60.

Here's one of me after a terribly long shift in the ER. I'm wearing a giant Christmas bow on my scrub top...yay.

Image itself is nothing special, just a (probably poorly exposed) picture of me falling asleep.

yeah, the one i used was freeware, mozodojo. Of course, like most freeware, it most CERTAINLY has its problems. I spent at least a couple hours fussing with the program, finding workarounds to its problems.

theres also an app called macosaic x, which can even compile collages using stills from a quicktime movie. Of course, the algorithms aren't as strong, and the mosaic usually doesnt look too good.
