Road Trip Part 2 - The Journey Home

A few more shots from the road trip. At the Atlanta airport, and the flight home.

First two shots - jets taking off.

Third shot - take off: the tower with Atlanta in the background.

Fourth shot - subdivision in Raleigh, NC.

Fifth shot - I 40 during rush hour. It would stink being in the east bound lane!

I like the third shot. Too bad you didn't open the windows to avoid the glaze in the last two. ;)

We had an afternoon flight, and got into Raleigh about 5:00 o'clock.

Brad booked us on Air Tran, which is Sky Blue with a new name. The landings were a little rough, but otherwise everything went smoothly.

    Everyone's a comedian!

Hey, I asked, but the pilot acted really concerned that I'd want to open a window while doing 500 knots!

    :-O

Glad you liked the shots buddy. We flew on a Boeing 717. Looks a lot like a DC-9 to me...

Better than some other things you might've said.

They didn't pull you aside and search you eh? A guy known to associate with firearms, taking pictures of our country's sensitive infrastructure, mmmmm, I figured that would be automatic hassle at the security line.

Not me! I had to take my shoes off and put them in a plastic container to be X-rayed. My camera backpack went through without a hitch. They did a manual search of my carry on bag. I had less than the required 3.4 ounces (what idiot thought up THAT amount?!) of any liquid, (shampoo, gel, toothpaste) but since I didn't have them in a ziplock bag, they threw them away. I considered that hassle free in this day and age.

I guess they didn't know I'm a registered Republican, a black belt in martial arts, own guns, knives, bibles, and that I'm a fair photographer who knows how to take photo's discreetly when need be.

Do me a favor. Let's keep this our little secret!

I won't say anything if you don't. Actually, I'd prefer to have someone like you on any flight I was on. Just in case...if you know what I mean.
