How to tell the most experienced shooter in a group? They have the least amount of toys on them.

    Hey Sebby,

Not much in this photo is working for me. The dead space is more a distraction than anything (little chains and white fence are distracting). The hat is nice and "sharp" which I think is equally distracting. What's the main subject here? I assume it is the boy?

I can appreciate that you were trying something different, probably by not following the "eyes are the most important part" rule. But for me this photo proves the rule more than anything else.

Assuming that was your goal, it is a nice attempt! I just think there needs to be more of an obvious subject here. Thanks for sharing.

After thought: A funny or more interesting expression on his face would have been a perfect "subject".

You know what I thought of when I saw this? I immediately imagined the classic shot of a worn out cowboy riding on a horse with his hat over his eyes to shield him from the dust. To me, this was the juvenile version of that cowboy.

Yea, my imagination probably got away with me.

Naw, I can see that too actually. Also, the cowboy leaning against the wall outside of the saloon with his head tilted down in a similar fashion. Someone get this boy a beer!
