Photography magazines (do you have a favorite?)

I like to look at photo magazines. My favorite would have to be Photolife. Most mags have far too many ads, but photolife isn't all about instruction or selling or recycling the same subjects endlessly. Photolife is about pictures. That's my subject.

What other good magazines are out there?

I like Outdoor Photographer. It focuses less on measurbating and Photoshopping, and more on taking photos of the outdoors, which is what I do...Of course, I wish it had way less ads, but I only paid $14 for my subscription, so it's not too bad. Some of the British mags like TDP cost almost that much for one issue...

I like American Photographer mostly for is slick look and extremely well presented and reproduced photographs.

I like B&W. It always is printed on high quality paper and is full of wonderful pictures from a very diverse group of photographer.

Of course...you need to appreciate B&W Photographs...or...dare I say...."Art".

I just started getting Outdoor Photography and I really like it. I'm sure there are better rags out there, but OP has a lot of good info in it that relates to what I enjoy taking pics of. My only complaint is that I wish it had more in it. Two day's and I'm done with it, cover to cover, including the adds. I don't mind the adds cause it gives me ideas of how to spend some extra money. I think I will pick up a copy of something else to tide me over for awhile tho.

Outdoor Photographer-because nature photography is still my true photographic love
B&W-because I wish I could do black and white that good and I need the inspiration

I recently gave up Outdoor Photographer after subscribing for a few years. It seemed like they didn't go in depth enough on some things, and I get too many magazines as it is.

Favorites are Photo Techniques, Camera Arts, Digital Photo Pro - and occasionally read B&W. That's another one I should subscribe to!

Outdoor Photographer is my favorite. Primarily landscape photography, with some nature (read flower and animal) photography thrown into the mix. Like Another View, I think they should go into more depth sometimes, but it's a great magazine overall, especially for beginner to intermediate photographers.

I also subscribe to Rangefinder. It focuses primarily on portrait and wedding photography.
