Rare Occurrence - complete dbl rainbow

Hello all, First of all, let me apologize for the poor quality of my photomerge. I did everything wrong...no tripod...a point and shoot camera...not well thought out or planned...etc...etc...etc...However, in my defense...this is my very first complete photomerge...It the rainbow occurred just a few hours ago and I just grabbed my camera and headed out my back door. BTW...that's my trailer in the right corner...haha...but I felt that since complete double rainbows are fairly rare, it would be kind of neat to share it with everyone...Please don't flame this as I know there are tons of probs with the pic...please enjoy it for the thought and wonder of this rare occasion...
The homes on the right are about 150 yards from where I was standing...the farm on the left is about 3/4 - 1 mile away. In fact, in a few of the shots I took, the farm on the left was rainbow colored...hehe

hi ken, considering the circumstances, i think you did remarkably well, and yes technically, there are a few 'glitches ', but i love your archway montage, even the double wall on the right adds to the shot imho. It looks great and those rainbows look amazing.

    Welcome to the forums

    Regards

This is unique Ken. Viewfinder isn't about critique we have other places for that here at PR. This is the kind of image that fits right in here onVF. Something different or special that you want to share with friends. Nice job and welcome once again to PR.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Like OT says, you don't need to worry about that here. Was this recently? We had strange weather recently (you're not too far from me) that looked like it would produce a good rainbow but I never saw one.

BTW, welcome! And I don't have any decent rainbow shots, let alone a double!

I agree with the others. This isn't Critique, and I think you did great considering the circumstances. And I'm not about to blast anyone's photomerges! The few I've tried have been abysmal failures...

    Coooool...

Nice pics. I've only seen a double-rainbow once, and I nearly drove off the road trying to get a good look at it...

    Yeah, you're new here, aren't you? ;)

Hey, if you sit around and go "naw, I could never do a good job with that" then you'll never learn. Personally, I really like it. It has a different effect than a "proper" photomerge. Honestly, I think it's more interesting than one that you cannot tell was several pictures. Very cool subject, too.

    Keep shooting!

Hey Ken, I wish I would have seen this last night. A woman at work had some shots of a double rainbow from last night as well. She didn't get the entire thing tho. Nice work!

Great capture, even with the technical glitches!

    Beautiful shots too.
