    Protest

Last Friday there was a lot of local news about a protest in Tacoma in which several arrests were made. The people were protesting the arrest and detention of illegal immigrants in a detention center nearby and were set to go again on Saturday. Being without plans or motivation, I thought I'd go down and try my hand at photo journalism only to discover that I'm not very good at it but thought some might like to see.
The protest didn't get very big and was quite late to start and I found out later that there was a large protest in Olympia, wa to the south trying to stop military hardware from coming back from Iraq.

    6. Arrest..That'll teach him to step of the curb when the sign says,"Don't Walk"

I was pretty close to where the arrest was made and next to the street. There were a dozen bicycle cops surrounding the area in nothing flat..I almost got run over..lol

The photos are not bad, the more you take the better you will get.

Well if you come into the country illegally, I'm sorry I don't have much of a problem with them being sent back. But on the other hand that Department has no brains with families and other special cases.

I'm thinking this subject calls out for B&W photos.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Protest

    WHY use B&W ?
Because photjournalists worked with fast B&W film in lightweight small 35mm cameras?
What makes this subject unsuitable to colour images, apart from its history?
You might as well say digital cameras should all have square sensors and be monochrome only.
