I like racing boats at night. I like racing at night more than I like racing during the day. Racing a boat at night is just an amazing adventure. It can be so dark when the moon is hidden that visibility improves when I close my eyes ... and I dream that I'm really a pirate.

Here is one that you may have seen variations of from the same session in other threads. this was a 50mm self portrait using only natural light from an open door. I converted to a b&w that I tried to simulate an old Kodak Tri-X look to.

Wow! That's quite a mountain top. Do people actually climb up to the top?

This is an excellent shot - I love the clouds surrounding the top and the sky in the background..

'Over The Edge' ... there was a late snow fall a week before Christmas here in the mountains of the Murrumbidgee.

The stone cairn in the Bimbirri Wilderness is part of the historic border that was surveyed during 1902-5 between the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales.

The melting snow runs into the Cotter catchment and then into the Murrumbidgee and then several months later ... I might get to drink it. I sampled some when I took this shot and it was cold.

    Warren,

This is AWESOME - and the title is perfect! What a beautiful image - I hope you have - or will have - this photo hanging somewhere.

The lighting is just perfect as is the composition! Is this film? Would you share how you shot this? Thanks! I'll view it again.....and probably again.....

Liz, Thank you for your support. I couldn't wish for a finer interest.

I shot the image on digital (JPEG) with a point and shoot Canon S75. The camera is a tad old, but it is light and adequate for mucking around in the bush.

I'd be delighted to post a thread about the post processing of the image in the digital darkroom on the new enhanced Digital Photography section of the Forum called 'Photography Software & Post Processing'.

The thread is called 'Light Snow ... in a digital darkroom' ... 'Light Snow' ... in a digital darkroom.

Wow! I never would have guessed this was shot with a p&s. It's a great example of what can be accomplished with a p&s in the right hands.

Agree Liz. I have noticed that Warren is posting some very high quality stuff lately.
