Post Software Reviews, Get a Book

Last week we put up a basic software guide. But we need more software reviews from you guys! To encourage some more action in that section, I'm going to give away a photo book in return for a software review. For more, click here >>

John, I tried half a dozen times or so to write a review for CS2, and each time the link led to a "The page cannot be displayed" message on an error page. Here's the URL:

    http://www.pcphotoreview.com/cat/dig...2_3078crx.aspx

I'm not having any interent connection problems or trouble getting to any other pages on the site...

    John,

I would write two, but the software isn't listed. iView MediaPro 3 and Gretag Macbeth Eyeone Match.

    Sebastian-
I'm sorry about the problem with the CS2 page. I'm not sure what the problem is because the review page comes up just fine for me. If I can't replicate the problem it's hard to fix it. Are you trying to access it through PhotographyREVIEW.com or PCPhotoREVIEW.com? Try this: http://www.pcphotoreview.com/cat/dig...2_3078crx.aspx

As for the other two, most Gretag Macbeth products are listed in the Color Management reviews. I can't remember if Eyeone match is just software or a system that includes the Eyeone hardware. And I've been trying to decide how to list that stuff - as separate products or the packages they come in. What do you think? Is the Eyeone Match part of something that's already listed or do I need to add it on its own?

iView MediaPro 3 is listed in the RAW conversion category. Should I move it to the browser category? It's hard to decide with some of this software. Looks to me like it should be in browsers. Here's a link to the review page:

I'm the one with the CS2 problem (see above). When I click on the link you left in your post, I go to the same page I was at before. Then, when I click on the Write a Review link, I get the error page...

    Re: John,

I posted this in the other thread as well, but I'm getting the same message as Steve. I had this problem a few weeks ago with the Noise Ninja review page. I just tried that one again, with the same result.

    PJ,

iView would fit into the Digital Asset Management category. It catalogs, it does no RAW conversion whatsoever.

I will try to see how the color calibration stuff is laid out. Problem with that is, several packages can share the same software, but have different hardware. I will see if I can contribute to the organization of that in any way.

Thanks for the link Steve! It seems to be working for me. I'm on a dif. system today than I was yesterday so that could have something to do with it too.

The two programs which I use besides Photo Shop are not listed. Thumbs Plus and the Panorama Factory. It appears that you only can write a review on the preselected programs.

    Can you add Extensis

    Hi John,

I used Extensis Portfolio for all of my photography file management. Can you add them to the reviews?

    Thank you,

    Software Review Links

There appears to be some confusion about what software is listed and available for review. . Not everything is listed on PhotographyREVIEW.com but all software is listed on PCPhotoREVIEW.com: http://www.pcphotoreview.com/cat/dig...T_3793crx.aspx

There have also been some technical problems. I don't have any solutions for those right now. But hopefully the PCPhotoREVIEW.com software link should make it possible for most people to post. And if you find there's anything missing on that site, let me know. So far, everything people have said is missing, is listed.

    Loren-
    It's listed: http://www.pcphotoreview.com/cat/dig...9_3080crx.aspx

It already has a review. But it could use a new one from you

    Thanks-
