It's going to take me awhile to recover from Speed's thread, but this photo certainly helped. Beautifully saturated colors. Interesting composition, what made you decide to crop it this way? Not that I mind, I really like it. Different.
Hey Seb, I'm just killing time on this site. Our flight to Reno/Tahoe leaves tonight. We are packed and have nothing to do. So I come on here and see Speed's thread. Damn, what a image to see before a vacation, right?
Thanks for taking me to a more "happy place" before the trip.
Regards,
Brian

Yeah, that is not a good thing to see before a trip. Although, your trip might make it easier to forget.
what made you decide to crop it this way?
This is straight out of the camera, uncropped. I loved the way the blues and greens framed the flower. It felt kinda cool looking throught the viewfinder, so I went with it. I don't have a macro lens, so I'm experimenting with my 50mm f/1.8 wide open at minimum focusing distance. It is interesting to say the least.
The colors are due to a mistake on my part. I used a paper to do a custom white balance that had some sort of bleaching agent in it. The cusatom white balance ended up being set to roughtly 10,000 Kelvin, making for really weird saturation levels in the shade here.
Hey, have fun on your trip! It's raining here and I get to move furniture tonight, so I am planning on living vicariously through you. Make it good.

Geez, just jump on the bandwagon.

Fine, be that way. You can't hurt my feelings, 'cause I don't have any!
:-(
Enjoy your vacation buddy! And remember to live vicariously for Seb while you're at it. ;-)
And in this case, 10,000,000 Kelvin certainly worked. Oh, that's right, only 10,000K. ;)
Hope it doesn't rain on your "furniture parade".
I'll try my best to make it good Seb!!
See you guys in a week!!

I see the floral shirt but might be frightened to see anything else taking into account the nature and form of the shot...hmmm
are you sure it's time-released meds Steve?
Nice VIBRANT shot (really) have fun with your new techniques I like seeing you try new things...they seem to always turn out pleasing Seb and thanks for the retreat
"I was not trying to be shocking, or to be a pioneer.
I wasn't trying to change society, or to be ahead of my time.
I didn't think of myself as liberated, and I don't believe that I did anything important.
I was just myself. I didn't know any other way to be, or any other way to live.".
This is a gorgeous shot Seb. Not only do the colors frame the flower, but the shape of the leaves also!
Thanks for helping us all recover!

You're too funny. I was actually afraid to look at this, thinking it would be another body part.

glad I was not alone...

I too was hoping it wasn't a particular body part that might be considered the polar opposite of a nipple... but I was confidant Seb wouldn't do that to us!
I don't think anyone was weirded out by your nipple, or any nipple for that matter, I think it was just the hamster biting it that was a shock.
Hope you're not offended, it was all in good fun.
Hope your injury heals quickly. I can't help but grin while writing that...
Not in the least! It's all in good fun.
The real injury was to my pride. He nipped me, and that was that. It hurt for a few seconds, then it was gone. No scars or infection. Just some laughs for my daughter, and my PR family!
