Don't remember when I first saw it but no doubt it affected me and my future opinions.

The thing about icons, you know they really are when they are spoofed.
In college, in a class that was called "Computer Aided Art", I replaced the gun with a hair dryer.
I did it with this relatively new program called PhotoShop, I used either version 1.0 or 2.0, I don't recall now.

That is an extremely powerful image, this summed up the entire Vietnam war, without words.

Great article. Interesting how that one photo changed the American people's impression of the war for the worse. And the "villian" in the photo was a hero to the South Vietnamese people. How ironic.

Brings to mind the old adage: "Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see". Excellent case in point.

Nice article, thanks for pointing it out. This image did as much as any thing during that period to change some peoples views on the war.
