Photo Size

Got a question -
When posting photos to your gallery or other forums are there any size restrictions or preferred sizes?
I understand the bigger they are, the sooner your space fills up, in addition to the longer time needed to upload photos.
Just curious.

On this site 600 on the longest side is preferred.

I think 640 is the max, but most people post at 600.
