    Photo-John's Picks

I don't know how many of you have looked at the 2006 Choice Awards, but this year I added a new category - Photo-John's Picks. These are things that, for whatever reason, didn't make the Choice Awards, but I thought deserved recognition. I just posted a new blog entry where I explain why I chose my Photo-John's Picks. And not only does it detail some camera gear that I think is very cool, it also shows off our new blog system

Note: the Choice Awards are based on this community's user reviews. By posting your reviews you are voting for the best products of the year. So make sure to post reviews for all of your photo gear!

Thanks for posting this John. Because of it, I just ordered my wife's Christmas present to me...a Canon EF 50mm 1.8 lens.

Just what I needed for all the low light shots I seem to fight with using my other lenses...not to mention just what I needed for indoor portraiture.

    Glad to help

That lens really is a winner - as are the 50mm lenses by Nikon, Konica Minolta/Sony, Pentax, etc. And I think the 50mm will really compliment your photographic style. Plus, it's not gonna too hard on the wife's Xmas fund

Precisely, especially since the wife wants a Doones and Burke handbag...gulp! :cryin:

But then again, she's worth it and so much more.

my bad...it's Dooney & Burke handbags. Overpriced if you ask me. But that's what she wants, so that's what she's gonna get. Here's the one my wife wants (elephant with amber trim): http://store.dooney.com/OA_HTML/dbib...20&st=kw&cpg=0

For that price, it better be real Elephant skin!

But really, my wife looks at my expensive toys the way I look at her shoes and purses. So I understand. That's cheaper than most photo equipment we own. If it will make her happy, it's worth it.
