    Peak through the Keyhole

    Shot near the entrance of the Dixie National Forest (Utah), heading into Bryce Canyon National Park.

    What an intense red on the rocks forming the keyhole !

    Armando, the reds on these formations are pretty intense, but not quite as rich as the keyhole depicts. The sun was high and harsh, which bleached out the deepness of the reds. I used a LR3 preset called Direct Positive, which produced the dark red on the near formation.

    Very nicely captured. The saturation and intensity of the colors is great.
    Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Thanks OT & WG. As I drove into Red Canyon, I looked up and saw the hole in the rocks. Thinking it might make a nice frame, I grabbed my camera and headed up the hill. The cool temp and ~7500 ft elevation had this ol' fat boy wheezing by the time I got there. Just had to wait awhile for my heart & resp rate to slow down enough to hand-hold the camera!
