Parking Violation, D70 ISO 1600

The driver fell asleep at the wheel and is OK. He drove into a furniture gallery.
Right out of the camera, WB set to incandescent.
Hand held of course.

I'm impressed with the quality at iso 1600. I've shot some 1600 film and the grain is very bad even at 4x6 size.
I'm not sure what my camra was set at (besides iso 1600) but I usually have contrast shapness and color turned all the way down and adjust in post.
I also find that looking for burned out highlights on the LCD is more help to me than the histogram for adjusting exposure. auto exposure would under expose this scene creating more noise when adjusted post.
The Old D 70 still ROCKS!

Very clear shot.I'm using some of the same tricks in learning my D80. ISO performance is radical if exposure is correct.That can be quite a challenge sometime.It seems the D80 is high-strung in that dept.

Yes it does! I really haven't used mine since I picked up a D2h, but if I'm shooting something non sports related and I need high ISO, the D70 is where its at.

impressive quality, and that's probably the least agressive police car I've ever seen, not counting those undercover taurus ones.
