I also like the second. Curious about where this is, lake or sea. If its a sea port they can't have very big tides or those short moorings would sink the boats.

Thank you all for your comments. These were shot in Croatia's Dubrovnik, Omis, and Adriatic Sea islands with the Olympus E-510 and Zuiko 14-54mm lens. The croatian coast is littered with about 1600 islands that break the waves and help keeping the water calm and clear, perfect for beaches, boating, and fishing.

I too am a big fan of the second picture. I love how smoothness and clarity of the water. This along with how cleanness of the shot make the boats look like they are floating in the air. I love that you can see crisp clean shadows of the boats in the sand below.

daq, it does allow larger view. If you scroll down the page there is a tab on the right where you can select Fixed or Wide.
