OT - American voters START YOUR ENGINES!

    Hey,

Just a reminder that many states "early voter" programs began today. That means that (depending on the specific rules for your state) registered voters can vote any time in the two weeks leading up to the general election on Election Day, November 2nd.

Here is a link to the DNC web site with all the details:

    http://www.democrats.org/evc/

In all fairness, I looked for the RNC equivalent but couldn't find it. The link above has info that is valid for ANY registered voter, regardless of party.

Anyway, I urge you all to please consider this option, especially if it looks like your time will be tight on Nov. 2.

With all this flexibility, there is NO EXCUSE not to vote!

My engine is already cooled down and in the garage. I already voted. Absentee ballot. Now it is wait and see.

I found this link for the GOP
    http://www.votegop2004.com/home5215.asp

It's for early voting where aplicable, and for Absentee Voting.

Like they say in Chicago, "vote early and vote often" - think of all the more time available! ;)

I don't have any excuse for not voting, I can see my polling place from my house - not that I'd miss that anyway. Isn't it something like only 45% actually take the time to vote? I just don't understand that!

Unhappy Re: OT - American voters START YOUR ENGINES!

The demographics for voters is even worse. Only about 25 % of 18 to 30 year olds are registered to vote, whereas about 75 % of 60 to 75 year olds are registered. That might explain some of the quirks of our system . Old people seem to have a higher conciousness of their civic duty.Go figure . Myself, I am definitely voting this year, albeit absentee.
