    One for Tyson

    Hey Tyson,

I thought you might get a kick out of this shot of my son in his Halloween outfit. He insists that we drive past the "firetruck house" every morning and evening on the way to/from daycare to check on the firetrucks. We have to check and see if the doors are up or down, how many trucks are in the station and if we see firefighters or not. And he can tell the difference between a police siren, firetruck siren and ambulance siren. We're going to take him to the station sometime as a surprise.

Just feeding one of his passions.

Wow that is great, there is so much to being a firefighter. It's not just about the fire, there are many other things, good and bad, that go with the job. I hope his love for the Big Red Truck never dies, it is a wonderful experiance. I know it has changed my life. We have Jr firefighters at our station, 14 to 18 year olds. Some day you might want to check in and see if your local department has a Jr membership. 75% of all US fire stations are volunteer or have volunteers, there is always room for more. My station is a combination dept. We staff durring the day and run volunteers at night.I get more from my volunteer time than I do when I am paid, it gets kind of boring waiting around the station all day for a call. It is nice to come and go as you please.

    Great picture by the way.

I still owe Greg a T- Shirt, when I go in and order them I'll have to get your son one. I hope to get down there sometime soon.

That would be awesome. We just used a toy firetruck to bribe him into letting us cut his hair. He was starting to get a mullet and that just wasn't working for us! But the firetruck worked, the pretty hair stylist didn't hurt either. He was happy and we were happy!

He is getting big! It's amazing to realize how quickly he's growing. We've been taking height measurements about every 3 months and he's averaging about an inch and a half. Which is also equaling a new pair of shoes about every 7, yes seven, weeks. It's mind boggling to me. But I wouldn't change a thing! He's one of the absolute best things that has ever happened in my life.
