Thread: Non Bird Image

    Non Bird Image

    I had too much wind on monday for bird activity, so I adapted(animals hate wind due to poor sight and moving leaves)

    FULL FRAME , HANDHELD , 400MM , F11, FILL AT -.3

    MUDDY and A SHOWER when i got home( haaa, beat you too it Steve)

    YES MY 1D was a blonde hair above the water and the hood touched the water ever so slightly and made a tiny ripple

    RIBBIT! Someday I'll learn how to take good critter close ups too... right now I'm stuck with a 105mm and I'm not fast enough to catch any of the buggers.

    Now this is a great photo, Paul. I love the greenish feel to it. Good exposure and comp too. The reflection, though, is what makes this image for me.

    But how in the heck do you hold a 400mm lens so still? I'm all over the place once I get past 225mm!

    ray... I have gotten flight shots from a friend's 400f2.8/ 2x handheld that were tack sharp ;)

    it's ALL PROPER TECHNIQUE ;) http://www.moose395.net/howto/shortlens.html

    I'm a thin guy, but have arm strength beyond what my build appears to have ;)

    IS helps, though not the almight answer people bill it as

    with envy over such an amazing shot... I wish you would take more stuff that's non bird related...you have an awesome gift my friend.

    VERY cool shot...how have you been OTHER than tired /overworked...

    Really nice. Does the blade of grass distract you? It kind of bothers me, bt the rest of the image makes me overlook it. ;)

    I'll tel;l you what.....

    if it doesn't rain I'll put my 28-70 f2.8 on my 1D and get shots at 2 feet for you

    if i had a 105 macro.. I'd get 16 inches from that frog for you

    i honestly took 5 minutes to take 16 image(ALL SHARP) from f5.6 to f13 in 3rd stops.. with and without flash

    it was stealth not quickness

    well.... I LOVE nature!!!

    look at nat's images of her kids for instance(too many people to choose from)....

    they are great because SHE LOVES HER KIDS!!!!

    PASSION is what makes a good image GREAT(not that too many of mine fall into that catagory in my eyes)

    DONE!!!! do you want 28mm, 70mm with 500D, w/o 500D, 100mm, 200mm, 400mm with or without 500D closeup lens....... 10 inches away to 7feet...... take a stab at which you'd like and I'll see if i can give you it..NICE AND SHARP(may be semi sharp?)

    downloading card now.... then bed time for me ;(
