One of the cooler events I have photographed

Even with a foot of snow on the ground in Saint Paul, Minnesota mountain bikers know how to get in a ride This was the second, and final, year that Red Bull has hosted an event in our elevated skyway system. This year not only did the course go all downhill but it also included some cool obstacles and a 25 stair gap that guys were launching off of.

Here are th photos I took this past Monday at the Red Bull Ride the Sky.

Some nice action shots! Mountain biking indoors...why not.
I think I liked the ones you caught with the big wall shadows, especially the first one.

That's nice. Looks like they really stepped it up this year. Red Bull does the coolest events, for sure.

Did you see the helmet cam video last year? That was sweet!

There is even more video of this years event on youtube just search for the name of the event. Also includes some really nice crashes on the last stair gap, including one where the guy got knocked out and broke his collar bone, rib, and finger.

Nice shots, Looks like this year was great again. I was going to try and ride or see if any help was needed with photos and such, (looks like that was covered pretty well though,) but had other stuff come up and couldn't go at all.

Heres a Link>> to some of the vids from this years ride, for those of you that don't want to go searching for them.

That is so cool! When you said indoors, I immediately thought an auditorium. Instead, they are riding down hallways, around corners and down stairs. That is Wild!

Nice shots, and thanks for sharing these with us!

    A mall is nothing!
Red Bull has done a similar bike event in an abandon salt mine.

    Hi Scott
Great pictures. Like the way your site presented them too. How did you create the picture show like that? Any particular software needed?
    Thanks

awesome! loved the presentation, loved the photos, especially those fisheye ones! a couple that really stood our were the blue tinted shot and the vertical from outside the glass bridge. Man, those were sweet. One small thing is that some looked like too much dodging had occured. Lighting, framing, all that stuff was awesome. Makes me want to run out and use my fisheye!

It's a fairly simple and inexpensive program called soundslides (soundslides.com). I picked up a voice recorder this past year and was hoping to add some audio clips in to the event but I got a little to rushed to get photos and didn't have time.

Yeah I decided to rent a 15mm 2.8 fisheye just for the event for my Canon rig. Figured this would be as good a time as any to use one. As for the over photoshopping, yeah, I can get carried away
