Interesting shots Tyson. It does make you think about the times then and now. I just wonder if WW2 were today, would we still win? I think the "kinder gentler nation" idea maybe wasn't and isn't such a good idea at least when it comes to war. They don't show the towers being destroyed on tv any longer because it is too traumatic for some people. I think people need to be reminded of why we are over there. If we were not there they would come back here. They were here once. Am I right?

Yes you are right. I met a woman today who admitted that todays society is too"Liberal" to win a war like World War 2 again. She said and I quote " I was really disappointed in the response to 911, patriotism is a thing of the past".

Thanks for sharing, Tyson. Working with some WWII vets at the air museum here, I'm always in awe of what their generation accomplished. Not just the fellows who went to war, but the whole concept of this country putting everything aside to concentrate on a total war effort. Victory gardens, War Bonds, scrap metal drives, food and gas rationing....things that would never happen in today's society. But we're talking different eras here,..different generations. People today have no appreciation for the sacrifice made by those who came before. History isn't taught in school like it was when I was growing up (there it is......"When I was a kid".. )
