A while back, while working on travel arrangements for Ruffus, Almo asked me about my (now old) avatar. I finally found the original.
See, when I started going digital, I was using my Dell laptop with all photos on an external hard drive. Then we purchased a way cool iMAC and I hardly ever use the laptop for photos (since the MAC sees my Nikon RAW files straight from the camera), and the laptop is not always connected to the external hard drive. Yada, yada, yada...
Anyway - here is the original of my first avatar. My daughter is the one in the yellow. They were practicing synchro diving for a summer meet. The writing on their arms is from a swim meet the night before (team spirit and all that). The funniest part is how neither one of them pointed their toes - so even their faults were in sync!
BTW, I've been struggling with taking dive shots ever since I got back into photography about 3 years ago. Between being outside in the summer sun, divers moving both side to side and up and down, constantly changing light conditions, and the fact that without laser eye surgery I can't see well enough to use manual focus . . . it just ain't easy. Any tips are greatly appreciated.
