Memo to me, update the list showing CB Photo as Nikon Samurai #18.

    Done!

BTW, the Fujifilm line (S1, S2, S3) are all based on the Nikon system, so it counts as far as I'm concerned.

Which is why you are now a Nikon Samurai!!!

Yep - Fuji DSLR's are fair game - I've been shooting the S2 for a year and a half and they still let me in! Of course there's other Nikons to round the collection out...

I was wondering what all those Nikon samurai things were about. It's a clique.

I use an Olympus. So I can start my own clique The Olypmian gods.

Does it make you want to shoot with and Olympus?

Hey, I say go for it! There is already a move afoot to start a group called the Minolta Warriors. Olympus makes great P&S cameras. Bought my wife a Stylus for Mothers Day our first year together. Great little camera. And I looked seriously at getting her an Olympus Digital last year. She decided she didn't want it. If she wants a picture taken, she grabs her Stylus, or has me take it for her.

The whole Nikon Samurai / Clan O'Cannon thing is just good natured ribbing among friends. We all know that it's the person behind the camera that matters. Which light box you use depends on what features you like, or ergonomics, or economics.

So what model Olympus do you shoot with? Inquiring minds want to know! ;-)

Yeah it identifies us by what camera we have.
But it all just fun thing.

    I use an Olypus E-10.

My only gripe is that it's cumbersome, the lenses for it suck, but it's a dependable camera.

I accidentally, while trying to rush to the lake to shoot the sunset, left my E-10 on top of my car and drove away, I live in a hill and driving, I noticed my camera was gone. I slammed on the brakes not knowing the camera was on the car roof and thum, thump, thump, my camera slide across my roofbounced on my car hood, hit the concrete. All I could do was watch and it was like slow motion. I got out and thought my camera would be busted, maybe some lens elements cracked, but it still works like a charm. The outer casing is marred, but I've had no problems with it.

Yes, Fuji DSLR's most definitely count! They are Nikon compatible all the way. I know a pro photographer that has used a S2 for years. And he has a bag of Nikon AFS lenses he shoots with. Got to love it.

I was reading a review of the S3 a couple of days ago. It is built on the N80 body! With some modifications, mind you, but the N80 body is the basic chasis used! I was stunned. I figured they would use the D1 or the D100 body as the chasis. Go figure.

    Such an honor....

    You Go Girl!!!!

    :-D

Actually, Flight is planning on using Greek and Roman names, instead of numbers - numbers are so HUMAN after all. So, should you be Saturn? Helena? Mythology isn't my strong point, but think up a good goddess name for yourself. Use the Olympian Goddess #1 as your subtitle.

    ;-)

    Maybe this will help:

Actually, the S2 is also built on an N80, along with the D100 and Kodak 14mp (Nikon version) as well. Have you ever compared the viewfinders of the S2 and D100? The S2 is like looking thru a tunnel compared to the D100 - which is still smaller than a film SLR. You get used to it, but then pick up the F5 and it's like somebody turned the lights on... The D2H has a pretty nice finder - waiting to see what a D100 replacement turns out to be.
