Male Kentucky Warbler - great photo - I'm guessing that you don't often see them that close to the ground?

Well, I figured there had to be a bird or some other kind of critter in there to make it a keeper, and sure enough. Good shot of probably what is a rare find for you?

you both are right!

kentucky warblers are very skittish and secretive. they arealso at the far northern end of their range in NJ.

I chased one for about 12 hours over a week last year, only to get a yellow blur go left ;(

not this guy.... SINGING , flying around, let me walk right up him.... THE BIRD GODS LIKED ME THAT DAY ;)

I wondered if it's mating season--- after enough seasons of seeing you around maybe the bird was checking YOU out...you might want to post some type of disclaimer to some of the chicks (get it bird chicken chicks) that you are with woman already...just a thought
