A nice day at the Beach

Yeehaw!!! It was so exciting getting so close to these waves!!!



I only had my 50mm on me that's gotta give you some idea of just how close I really was!



I found a nice little sun chair right next to a hut lol



and this has to be my favourite of the day...



I think if I get the chance to do this again I'll get hubby to take pics of me with my 350D

I far prefer that first photo.
Beach, sea, sky, wave all in proportion.

The last image with the people in yellow jackets, doesn't appeal to me at all.
I'd frame the first one, too.

I'd also take the 70-200 so I didn't get wet

Well if I was being picky I'd have shot it slightly more to the right, putting the end of the breakwater at the edge of the frame. Or stepped back a bit to get more wave in on the right.
There's more spray out there on the right that I'm missing

I like the first one best too but all have their merits.

Beautifully done Alison. The power of the ocean is an awesome thing to behold. I can remember standing on the rocky shore on the north side of Oahu a few years ago and marveling at the majesty and power.

WOW, those first two are awesome. The first is my favorite as well. I love how the light travels from the bottom of the lead edge of the wave across the rocks straight towards the viewer. Aperture control, you have it dialed. That first shot is just so well done. The way the rocks are in and out of focus just adds to the composition. Thanks for sharing them.

Now I happen to like the last one primarily because of the red line across the roof and the yellow raincoats against the dark background. The first comes in a close second though.

Nope. I didn't crop that one at all. Like I said, I really was THAT close.
Hubby was sat in the car a little way from the beach and he could see me running around. He actually thought the waves were getting me. Well, they were in a way, I was being sprayed quite badly. I was soaked by the time I came away, my hair felt awful and my lips were salty LOL.
