    New Toys (Canon Fans!)

I lost control and bought some new stuff today. I had been planning to buy an EOS 40D for a while and I haven't owned a point-and-shoot for years. I rationalized the spending because I need reviews for both cameras

The SD950 IS is hard to justify. But I liked the PowerShot SD850 IS (read my Canon SD850 IS review)so much and I haven't had a review point-and-shoot for a while. No point-and-shoot means missed photo opportunities. So what the hell. I'll get a camera review and hopefully a sweet point-and-shoot to boot.

Just in case it's not clear and anyone thinks I'm on the pad - I drove myself down to the camera store today and bought this crap with my very own money. It was horrible. But it's done now

Anytime you need a review, I volunteer to save you the trouble of actually reviewing. Just go down and buy it and then send it to me and I'll be happy to oblige.

Congratulations! Wow! That 40D is awesome! I am really going to look for some images from you now!

And, everyone needs a point-and-shoot camera! Well, almost everyone. I love mine - and yes I owe you a review. I haven't forgotten.

    ENJOY! and post some samples.

I'm really looking forward to your 40D review PJ. Did you get it with the kit lens, or body only?

Well I for one want to hear about the SD950IS. I keep trying to find a way to justify a P&S. I can see one in my future but I do a lot of research before I buy and I know you'll do a great job reviewing it.

I never liked my P&S. It was okay for documenting "the facts" of events, but it never managed to capture the essence or the art. I don't know if it was me or the camera, but I was always disappointed.

Now, it sits somewhere in the house, languishing with a broken LCD panel. I haven't mourned its passing.

    PowerShot SD850 IS Review

Read my Canon PowerShot SD850 IS review. Because the new camera is basically the same. The only real differences that I'm aware of (so far) are the titanium body and it has a 12-megapixel sensor instead of 8, like the SD850 IS. But I expect the performance to be pretty much the same. Image quality might not be as good since they've packed 50% more pixels onto the same size sensor. We'll see.
